There is a well-worn pattern in industrial technology adoption. A promising solution is identified. A pilot is run and reported as a success. And then nothing happens. The technology does not scale, the budget is not renewed, and two years later the same problem is being scoped again with a different vendor.
This usually is not a technology failure. It is a failure to answer the questions that operations, maintenance, procurement and finance need answered before they will commit — questions that were never in the pilot's scope. Who maintains this? What happens when it fails at three in the morning? How does it integrate with the systems already in place? What is the actual total cost at fifty sites rather than one? Where does the liability sit?
Our work concentrates on that gap: making sure evaluation and qualification generate the evidence that the eventual decision-makers will actually require.

Screening the landscape against a specific operational problem rather than a general interest in innovation. This means separating genuine capability from marketing, assessing realistic technology maturity rather than claimed maturity, and being clear about which claims have been demonstrated in conditions comparable to the client's.
Qualification and field trial design
Designing trials that produce decision-grade evidence. Acceptance criteria are defined before the trial rather than negotiated after it. Testing is sequenced so the largest uncertainties are retired first, and the trial is scoped so a clean negative result is as useful as a positive one — knowing early that something will not work has real value.
Digital transformation advisory
Practical guidance on digital initiatives in operational environments — data infrastructure, sensing and instrumentation, analytics and machine learning, edge and cloud architecture. The emphasis is on what will survive contact with a live operation, including the unglamorous questions of data quality, connectivity, and who owns the system once the project team disbands.
Deployment and scale-up
Moving from a proven trial to routine use. This covers stage-gate governance, building the internal business case, aligning the stakeholders whose cooperation deployment depends on, and planning the support model that determines whether the technology is still in use two years later.

We also advise from the other side. Technology companies selling into energy and industrial markets frequently underestimate how their buyers actually decide — how long qualification takes, what evidence an operator's technical authority requires, and why a technically superior product loses to a better-supported one. Helping providers understand and navigate that process is a natural extension of the same expertise.

- Define the problem, not the technology. Start from the operational outcome required, which frequently reframes what is actually being solved.
- Assess realistically. Evaluate options against operating conditions, integration constraints and support requirements — not against a specification sheet.
- Structure the evidence. Design qualification so the resulting data satisfies the stage gate it is meant for.
- Build the case. Translate technical results into the commercial and risk language that approval actually depends on.
- Plan for the long term. Address support, ownership and scale before deployment rather than after.
